The two friends Cathy and Jane, two young nurses from England, make a holiday together in the form of a Bike tour through France. Unfortunately, they have chosen a rather boring area, so it comes at a picnic in a grove of a dispute about the meaning and purpose of the holiday. Furious Jane rides off and returned a few hours later ruefully, but - Cathy is gone! Jane then makes itself more and more concerned about Cathy, no one has seen them. At the same time, however, appeared again on the unknown, which she pursued since they had made into a Café a photo of him, also eliminates a strange figure in the fields around and the locals told her that the road was in front of the grove a "terrible road" ...
"And Soon the Darkness" is a damn cool movie. While not exactly giallotypisch (possibly the last fifteen minutes) and also not provided from Italy (the Brit director is Robert Fuest), but enormously exciting and an interesting atmosphere. The very sparse staging and very natural-looking leading ladies (Pamela Franklin and Michele Dotrice) ensure that you can really cheer with the movie.
prerequisite for this is certainly that one action scenes (the film only comes gaaaaanz up to full speed), should expect hard facts or even harsh scenes of violence. You do not do this, you get offered really compelling mystery entertainment, often even in the uncut version with the title "the Darkness" on German television. If that is the case once again: not only miss, is a German DVD release it has not (the U.S. DVD from Anchor Bay is the way point).
And finally I also once again found a trailer:
